Icon text for dialer shortcut doubled

Sometimes the text for OOIDA ISP shortcut is repeated right after installation. Selecting the icon will remove the doubled text. This is an OS bug that occurs on Windows 2000 and XP.

Icon appears only for one user

For Windows 95: When a system is configured for multiple profiles and has selected the "Include Start Menu and Program groups in user settings" options, the OOIDA ISP icon will be visible only to the user who has logged on at the time of installation

Limited users receive OOIDA ISP error message at startup

For Windows 2K and XP: The following user permissions are required by OOIDA ISP:

  • An 'Administrator' account in Windows XP

  • An 'Administrator' or 'Standard account' in Windows 2000

If OOIDA ISP has been installed by an Administrative user and a user with limited permissions logs on to the system, the limited user may receive a message at startup stating that OOIDA ISP was improperly installed or that they do not have sufficient privileges to run OOIDA ISP. To prevent this message, the Administrator can increase the user's account privileges or they do the following:

  1. Open the Applications Options window

  2. Ensure that the Launch Dialer on System Startup checkbox is not selected

  3. Save

Page Disrupted while working offline

If the user is working offline, the post-connect URL may open in that window, disrupting any work or game in progress. To avoid this, the user must have Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher, and select the Advanced tab in Internet Options. In the Browsing section, the user must uncheck the "Reuse windows for launching shortcuts" option and check Apply and OK to exit
