Click on the Start button, then select Settings and the Control Panel.
When the Control Panel opens, double click on the Dial-Up Networking icon
Double click on "Make New Connection"
In the field "Type a name for the computer you are dialing", type OOIDA ISP. Make sure that your modem is selected in the "Select a device" field. Click Next
Enter in the local access number you were given. If you have 10 digit calling in your area, enter the full number in the "Telephone number" field and leave the "Area code field blank. If you do not have or know your local access number, please contact Internet Tech Support at 877-599-2295 to get your local access number. (NOTE: Please verify with your local phone company that the number you are dialing will be a local call for you. PowerNet Global is not responsible for any long distance charges you incur using the OOIDA ISP service)
This will create the PowerConnect Dialer. Click Finish
Once you click finish, you will see an icon in the Dial-up Networking box called OOIDA ISP. Right click on that icon with your mouse. A small pop up box will appear. Find "Create Shortcut" and click on it. You will be prompted with a message saying that "Windows cannot create a shortcut here, do you want to place it on your desktop", click Yes Next, right click on the same icon and this time select Properties
The will open the OOIDA ISP Properties dialog box. Double check and make sure that the local access number is entered correctly. Make sure that "Use area code and Dialing Properties" is Unchecked. Click on the Networking tab
Make sure that "Enable software compression" is the only item checked under Advanced Options and make sure that "TCP/IP" is the only item checked under the Allowed Network Protocols. Click on the "Security" tab.
The username needs to be entered as "username@ooidaisp.com" Click on the "Dialing" tab
Here you can set up specific dialing rules for your connection. Click the OK button and close the Dial-up Network box.
Go back into the Control Panel and double click on the Network icon
In the white box, find the TCP/IP Dial-Up adapter or it may just say TCP/IP. Click on it once to highlight it and click on the Properties button
This will open the TCP/IP Properties dialog box. Under the DNS Configuration tab, make sure that "Disable DNS" is selected. Click Okay and then restart your computer.
When the computer comes back up, find the OOIDA ISP icon on your desktop and double click on it.
This will open up the Connect To dialog box. Make sure that the username is in as username@ooidaisp.com and click connect. Once connected, open up Internet Explorer or any other browser you prefer to view the Internet
