| To Create a new connection, click on the Start
button and select the Control Panel
On the left hand side toward the top, check to see if it says Switch to Classic View. If it does, click on "Switch to Classic View"
Double click on the Network Connections icon
On the left hand side, click on "Create a New Connection"
The "New Connection" wizard will open up. Click the Next button
Make sure "Connect to the Internet" is selected and click the Next button
Make sure "Set up my connection manually" is selected and click the Next button
Make sure "Connect using a dial-up modem" is selected and click the Next button
In the white field under "ISP Name" enter OOIDA ISP and click the Next button
Enter in the local access number that was given to you when you signed up. If you have 10 digit dialing in your area, enter the area code along with the local access number. If you do not have or know your local access number, please contact Internet Tech Support at 877-599-2295 to get your local access number. (NOTE: Please verify with your local phone company that the number you are dialing will be a local call for you. PowerNet Global is not responsible for any long distance charges you incur using the OOIDA ISP service) Click the Next button
Enter in your username and password. Make sure that the username has @ooidaisp.com at the end of it and click the Next button
Make sure there is a checkmark in "Add a shortcut to this connection to my desktop" and click the Finish button.
The Connect OOIDA ISP box will open up after clicking Finish. Verify that the username is enter as the FULL email address and that the local access number is entered in correctly. Click on the Properties button
Again, verify that the local access number is entered in correctly and make sure that "Use dialing rules" does not have a check in it. Click on the "Options" tab
Under "Dialing Options", make sure everything is check EXCEPT "Include Windows logon domain. Click on the "Security" tab
Make sure the Security Options are set to "Typical". Click on the "Networking" tab
Under "Type of dial-up service I am calling" click on the Settings button
In the PPP Settings dialog box, make sure that "Enable LCP Extensions" and "Enable Software Compression" is checked and click the OK button
Under "This connection uses the following items" click once on "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" to highlight it and click on the Properties button
This will open the "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties" dialog box. Make sure that "Obtain an IP address automatically" is selected. Make sure "Obtain DNS server address automatically" is selected. You can also select "Use the following DNS server addresses". If you do select this option, make sure that you have the Preferred DNS Server and Alternate DNS server address numbers entered as shown below. Click on the "Advanced" button.
Under the "General" tab, make sure "Use default gateway on remote network" is selected. Also, under "PPP link" make sure "Use IP header compression" is selected. Click on the DNS tab.
Under the DNS tab, make sure that "Append primary and connection specific DNS suffixes" and "Append parent suffixes of the primary DNS suffix" is selected. Click on the WINS tab
Under the WINS tab, make sure the "Enable LMHOSTS lookup" is selected. Under the section "NetBIOS setting", make sure that "Disable NetBIOS over TCP/IP" is selected. Click the OK button until you get back to the dialer.
Once back to the dialer, click on the Dial button to connect to the Internet, then once connected, open up Internet Explorer or your favorite web browser to view the web.
